Where’s the diary? Slack? Well, I'd prefer to say, pre-occupied. There's been a lot going on of late. All around us, re-alignment and invertible change and, taking all of these things into account, organising and vibing for the next Skull Club has been a long drawn out process. That's not to say that our hearts ain't in it or that we don’t care because they are and we do but... it's fraught times we're living in and holding on to the bar labelled 'Reality' hasn’t been as simple as it should have been. But...

Let's do our best to put all of that aside for a few minutes and deal with the task at hand, which is: The Skull Club. Yes, Brothers and Sisters, as most of you will already know that our next date, our next psychedelic celebration of all things worth shouting about, has been set for Friday 20th October and, although promo and exposure has been thin on the ground, it's going to be business as usual as far as we're concerned. The D.J's are delving deep into their collections to find all of those obscure, brain-twisting, spazz-danceable psych gems that you Skull Heads seem to love so much, our trusted partners in crime at the Assembly Rooms, Jem and Ron, are being consulted over the next few days concerning the lights, projections and the general decoration of the hall and, once again, we have sorted out two fire-in-your-ass Rock and Roll bands for your prime entertainment.

My guessing is that these two bands will have already been etched onto the wild side of your brain by now. Well, with the Tamworth contingent at least, so... It's with our great pleasure that we can announce that The Mobsters are back at The Skull Club for the forth time. The Mobsters are Skull Club family. You’ve probably heard this story before but, when we were in talks with the Assembly Rooms management about starting a psychedelic rock and roll night in Tamworth, I said that we'd do it if a bunch of guys who I knew from way back when would come and play for us, and that bunch of guys were The Mobsters. Anyway, I got in contact with them, they said yes and, right there, The Skull Club was born. Really, no Mobsters would have equalled no Skull Club so, for all of their help and support over the last few years, we thank you from the bottom of our over-polluted hearts

And The Big Bang? C'mon, you must know those guys by now. Fracture regulars, as performers and punters, resident band for the mighty ColdRice club and surely one of the hardest working bands around, The Big Bang are a real catch for The Skull Club. Not only is their own brand of primal, riff-heavy, pant-shifting, rock and roll music a perfect ingredient for The Skull Club broth, they're a band just waiting to happen. Actually, if I'm totally honest, it wasn't so much down to invitation that's bringing them back to Tamworth at all. Dan and Matt from the band came to the last Skull date as part of Copter's crew and they dug the scene so much, they demanded that they played the next night that we put on so... there you go. It's all happening and, short notice aside, it should be another fantastic night.

As always there's a whole bunch of other stuff that I could talk about but... another time maybe. I'd just like to say a big, big thank you to the following for their support, their influence and, if nothing else, their ability to shine: Femme Fatale, The Combat Rocker, Tony Smith, D. Brainstorm, Peter Hill, Tars Tengerson, Dr. Atomic, Frenchie, Rich Evans, Taxi Nige', Sir Rowley Regis, Andy Codling, all at The Sir Robert Peel and all of you cats that come up to me when I’m out on the town and raise a glass to the cause. Thank you...

And to Sean Doherty... You are a star that will always shine in my sky. God bless you Brother. Love always...
