Alright, alright. I know, it's been ages. I don't know if you guys even notice but, as sure as shit stinks, D. Brainstorn does and, seeing as he does all of the technical stuff around here, I have to take note. So here goes...

What's new? Well, I guess the big news is that we finally have a date for the next Skull Club. Yes, it's true! The Skull Club #6 is upon us brothers and sisters and we can promise, hence the wait, that it's gonna be a blinder! If we're honest we've had the date booked for a while now but, there was one piece of our sixth puzzle that we wanted to make sure we had, and that was... Copter!!!

Y'know, The Skull Club is about many things but, if there is one thing that we try to guarantee, it's good, honest, live, rock and roll music. Any of you Skull Heads will confirm, we ain't done too bad so far: The Mobsters, Grande Cobra, Lucifer Star Machine (you'll find links on our 'Turn-Ons' page). And we ain't gonna let you down now. Some of you may already know about Copter (some of us Tamworthians would have caught them at Fracture not so long ago) but, if you don’t... shit! What am I doing? I'm gonna give the game away!

That's all you need to know...

What else is there to report? Did I mention The Skull Club's Big Day Out? It's safe to say that...it happened! Primal Scream at the Wulfren Hall, Wolverhampton, 26th April. What a gas. Eight of us in the mini bus, one in a van, two already there and every one of us ready to rock and fucking roll. Before us bus guys had even left Skull Towers there was chaos... I don't wanna go into too much detail (you don't know who's watching, know what I mean?) but we were flying. Femme Fatale and The Priest fighting over bus money and uppers, M. Mainbrace keeping a watchful eye on which bottles he drank from and already burning up, LV careful not to repeat her Hawkwind experience the last time she was at the Wulfren, Dr. Atomic going with the flow but always cautious, Mads being Mads and Squonk consuming whatever he was offered, behaving like Keith Moon's right hand man and, as always, declaring an absolute undying love for Genesis (Gabriel and Collins eras!). It was like a cross between Cocksucker Blues (minus the heroin) and a school trip to the zoo (minus the jam sandwiches). Alright!!!

The place was packed and as hot as a forest fire. It wasn't any surprise that none of us could remember the name of the support band as we were meeting up, lighting up, drinking up and gearing up for The Scream. And they sure as shit didn't disappoint. From the minute they kicked into Country Girl until their finale (Movin' On Up?) they didn't give you a minute's break. No ballads, no instrumental, no fucking about. Y'know, I've been to see Primal Scream on every British tour they've done in the last twelve years and I've never seen them so together as a band. That's not to say that it was the best time I've seen them (possibly though) but they were as tight as noose and, from where we were standing, having an absolute gas on stage. I don't think I've ever seen Bobby Gillespie smile so much (or sing so well!). And to really top things off, we were treated to a fantastic version of The 13th Floor Elevators’ Slip Inside This House. Not the re-worked version that they did for Screamadelica but the full 8 minute, acid drenched, carbon copy of the Hall/Erickson original! Did I dance like a dosed up, day-glo freak at The Avalon Ballroom? You bet! Did us Skull Heads have a wild time and party well into the next day? Too Right! Primal Scream? Motherfuckers!!!

For those of you that missed this, the very first Skull Club Big Day Out, and have been crying into your cornflakes since, don't fret. Discussions have taken place and there will be another SKBDO real soon. Watch this space...

Once again, I could rant on for pages. I always plan to abuse my power on this website and use the opportunity to make my big mouth bigger but, I'll spare you this time. Up for discussion were: Tribute bands; myspace.com; the Tamworth Bands Website; our very own Musical Hoover thread; the news, media, Killing Joke and their connection with paranoia; The Flaming Lips live experience; Skull merchandise (again); and a council application for a mobile burger van, operating during nightclub hours, right at the top of my garden. You know where the forum is, help me out...

Right, that's yr lot but, before I go, I just wanna send thanks and praises to D. Brainstorm, Miss Fatale, The Stone Foundation guys, Tars Tengerson, Kraig and Peter of The Outline, Andy Codling, Rich Clark and Lisa, M. Wallis (can you Cope?)... and Tony Walters (Bless ya.x).

Until the next time Skull Heads. Stand firm...
