Doesn't time fly when you're having fun? Four months... Where have you been? Where have I been!?! And...

Has it really been so long? There's been two Skull Clubs since I last wrote...? I can't believe it! Looking back... I'd rather not. Not that far anyway. Infact, how about now? Right now? Right on!

Well... Brothers, Sisters, it gives us great pleasure to officially announce the date and the details of the next Skull Club! That's right, we're coming back (not like we've ever been away) sooner than we even expected! The July date that was casually touted round the hip joints will still go ahead as normal but, lucky for us cats, there was a cancellation, we were offered the date and we took it. As I said, it was completely unexpected and with short notice but, after the complete success of the last night we put on at the Assembly Rooms, Tamworth, we thought we’d divert the ship from its intended destination and run with the momentum.

Actually, to say that the last Skull Club (Friday 26th January 2007) was a success would be a complete understatement. For me personally, it surpassed any expectation I'd initially hoped for… By a long way. The venue was buzzing, the crowd were fantastic, Dr. Atomic, M. Mainbrace and The Combat Rocker all played an amazing plethora of sounds that kept the dance-floor full and the vibe high, The Madcaps and Copter were just outta sight and everybody, including ourselves, had a blast... And, in the case of some Motherfuckers, partied for the next twenty-four hours.

Oh yes, what a gas that was. Buoyant and psyched with our/your triumph, we walked head first into a two chapter affair that saw dedication, exploration, sights, fights, dancing, from one door to another, Jack Daniels bravado and a loud stereo... and more than enough Grateful Dead! Yes, yes, the whole night will go down in my book of 'All Time' favourites for sure and I'd like to say a big "Thank you" to all 'involved'. Anyway... I digress.

The next Skull Date, right? Ok:

The Skull Club #9
Friday 30th March
Assembly Rooms, Tamworth
7.30pm – 1am

Cool or what? And not only are we psyched about our five month jump forward, we're really pleased about the bands coming to play too.

When I looked for pointers, began searching for a great Rock and Roll band to headline our date, I turned to our good friend Stevie Copter for pointers. Figuring that since Copter have given us the pleasure twice already, he'd really hit the nail on the head as far as knowing what would and what wouldn't give at The Skull Club. And he did. Out of a list consisting of several great bands, one stood out immediately, and that was Mr Derry. I wrote to them saying that we dug their thing, told them what we did and asked them if they'd consider playing for us. A few hours later the deal was done and everything immediately slipped into place. How cool is that? Check them out and tell us we're right: http://www.myspace.com/mrderry

The other band we're proud to have the pleasure of mixing business and pleasure with is Tamworth's own The Indigos. As you know, The Skull Club doesn't necessarily show leniency to our local bands, out of the ten nights that we've put on, only three Tamworthian bands have appeared and there’s two reasons for that, either 1: They just wouldn't fit the bill, or 2: They just wouldn't cut the mustard. And I've no doubt that The Indigos will cater for both of those needs.

Unexpected? Controversial? We don't think so. They're a great band, they're great guys, that's all there is to it. I think we'll both work together, you guys'll dig 'em and we'll have a party. Hey, since when has The Skull Club conformed to anybody’s rules? It's only Rock and Roll, right?

So... Where am I? Okay... Oh, you' got it already? I told you...

See above...
